i recently recieved a tens machine from a physical therapist. it works fine on my back and hips. it seems to have no effect on my legs below my knees. in fact, i can turn it to max output and i have no feeling of it on my ankles.

I have used it 4 times now and every time I do about 3 or so hours later I am so uncomfortable, I can't lie down to sleep or sit and watch telly, it is so so uncomfortable. Can the tens irritate the nerves in my back, the hospital physiotherapist says it is impossible, but it seems to.

I haven't been able to find any info on if it is OK to use a tens machine if you have a copper iud. I know copper is really conductive, but does the current just travel between the pads? If they are on your back not near your abdomen should there be any issue? The manual says those with metal pins should not use the device. Went to a chiropractor and they had an EMS and it was like something unlocked. I decided to hunt around for a machine without a script because I didn't think it was that dangerous. Anyways, after hiking about on halloween in heavy boots I have been having sciatic pain. I really want to put the electrodes on my lower back but never actually consulted a doc about the tens because I didn't want to pay for the appt. I am a fairly paranoid person, and it seems like you can usually find answers on line to some medical Qs. But not much on this. Thanks for your response so far.
Lloyds Pharmacy Tens Machine Instructions?
I have lost my instructions to the tens machine and need to know what the different mode settings do. The manual showed you which mode was best for different parts of your body. Has anyone got the manual? and can you tell me what the modes are? etc
