Other factors that contribute to an existing back pain: proper diet, type of mattress, habits, posture, physical fitness, etc. if your back hurts, take a break from basketball. landing from a jump requires the back muscles to fire strongly to protect your back. if you don't let your back heal and you keep doing things that puts a lot of demand on your back muscles, it will never heal. rest. let your back heal. while you're letting it heal, stretch it, relax it in a warm bath or jacuzzi. don't do anything to hurt it. standing too long can aggravate back pain. sitting excessively slouched or crooked may lead to reaggravation. after one week, go work out at the gym, but do not do any exercise that hurts your back as you are doing it or that leads to back pain later. when you have no pain at all, slowly go back to playing basket ball if you want to. if the pain comes back after playing basketball again, see your doctor. if the pain does not go away, even with rest, go see your doctor. |

You could have a spine deformation and that is a serious thing so I suggest seeing a doctor;to subside the pain get a heating pad and put it on your back over night with a pillow under or between(if you sleep on your side)your legs. |

It's not uncommon for young people to have back pain - unfortunately. You need to see a doctor - there can be many, many causes. You want to be assessed to be sure you are growing properly. Low back pain is very common among humans. As soon as we stood up, we started putting serious stress on the sacroiliac joint. Look it up on the Internet - that area of your skeleton takes SOOOO much stress!! All the stuff you carry - besides carrying your upper body, is relying heavily on the sacroiliac joint. Sorry about your pain. It could be that all you need is good stretches... and stretches are very specific. Some stretches cause harm! In stretching, NO bouncing! They are slow and easy. You can search the Internet for back stretching exercises, as well. But - please start with your doctor. You need to rule out some things. |

Hey dude, I used to play basketball a lot also, but the lower back problems may come from many different reasons, a twist, not warming up etc. For me, it happened that I use to wake up with this lower back pain in the mornings, I even had problems getting up and standing straight. Turned out that I have a B vitamin deficiency(Thiamine). I took Benerva (Bayer laboratories) and those pains went away, GO TO YOUR DOCTOR , DO NOT SELF MEDICATE, read this article, may come in handy bayer.co.uk/ html/ pdf/ FV_TM0409_Benerva_CompPage_V6.pdf |
